We are making a music video for Mis-Teeq's scandalous. The idea of our video is 'the chase ' where viewers will see the four members of our girl group 'Studded Roses' dominating the males. The locations for our video include streets, a car park, car and a homemade setting. We have also decided to include a dark edge to the video to make it somewhat different from the typical pop/r'n'b music videos of nowadays.

Researching videos that give ideas for our song choice.
When watching this music video, I really liked the concept of what kind of shots and backdrops the video included. I also found the dark make-up(dramatic)and the quick camera shot changes an idea to think about with our music video.
Research into brief genre
When starting to think of ways in which I could research our chosen brief, I decided to reearch different music videos in which fit with our genre. When reading through the brief, I noticed that the interests of the group in which we are meant to be making the music video for was a group called, 'The Spice Girls', due to this I decided to look at one of 'The Spice Girls' music videos to see how and where they included aspects of Andrew Goodwin's theory.
Genre Characteristics:
-Bright colours - indicating pop music.
-The video is quite fun and giving the impression of just wanting a good time - relating to typical pop music.
-Camera follows the movement of the singers in the band - showing the fun, out of control way.
-Dancing in the video - showing fun pop genre.
Relationship between lyrics and visuals:
-When viewing the music video of this song, I feel that the realtionship between lyrics and visuals in this video is quite weak. Some of the singers occasionally point what they are singing but that's mainly it.
Relationship between music and visuals:
-The relationship between music and visuals also seems very weak within the video, when the beat changes in the song, the group just move to a different scene in the background.
Influence of record label and use of close-ups:
-The close ups used in this video are mainly of the singers faces as they are singing the lyrics, this may have been done to show their expressions in they faces closer, showing that are all happy and having fun.
References to the notion of looking/voyeurism:
-The whole music video is shot through point-of-view to the audience, making the audience feel as if they are part of the video; putting the audience in the position of the group singing to the audience, making it more personal to the audience.
Intertextual references:
-When watching the music video the other intertextual reference I could find was when the band name came up at the beginning of the video and when the location came up after it.
